Staff Accountant

Who you are 

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in getting the numbers right and keeping financial records clean and organized. Our ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail and enjoys the core rhythm of accounting work, from recording journal entries and reconciling accounts to maintaining schedules that support accurate financial statements 

In this role, you’ll support day-to-day accounting operations across Golf Ranch locations, helping ensure revenue, cash, and payroll entries are recorded accurately as our sites grow. This role is well suited for someone who values ownership, consistency, and doing the work behind the scenes that keeps the Golf Ranch engine running. 

What you'll do 

Core Accounting Operations 

• Record weekly revenue across locations using point-of-sale reporting, including membership, event, and other site revenue 

•  Maintain accurate deferred revenue balances related to memberships, events, and gift cards 

•  Ensure timely entry and reconciliation of cash and credit card transactions across all sites 

•  Support accurate financial reporting by preparing journal entries and maintaining key balance sheet schedules 

General Ledger & Financial Accuracy 

• Maintain general ledger accuracy by updating fixed asset, deferred revenue, and gift card liability schedules 

• Record depreciation from the fixed asset schedule and ensure supporting documentation is maintained 

• Assist in maintaining organized documentation and reconciliations supporting financial statements 

Payroll & Transaction Recording 

• Record payroll journal entries for bi-weekly payroll and monthly commission or tip entries 

•  Support accurate labor reporting by ensuring payroll entries align with accounting records 

Cash & Reconciliation 

•  Perform weekly cash reconciliations across locations, including credit card deposits and undeposited funds accounts 

•  Research and resolve transaction discrepancies as needed to maintain accurate financial reporting 

Accounts Payable Operations 

• Review, code, and enter vendor invoices with proper GL classification and documentation 

• Initiate invoice approval workflows and prepare weekly payment files for review 

• Maintain vendor records including W-9 collection and 1099 tracking 

Requirements

What you’ll need 

• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience in golf, hospitality, entertainment, or related industries 

•  Knowledge of revenue accounting and deferred revenue management 

• Understanding of GAAP and ability to prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial schedules 

• Experience supporting financial operations across multiple locations 

• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records in a fast-moving environment 

Bonus Points 

• Experience working as an accountant in an operating business or hospitality environment 

• Familiarity with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting systems 

• Experience supporting multi-location accounting operations
