NSG, Inc. is looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Staff Accountant / Payroll Specialist to join our growing team. If you enjoy working with numbers, ensuring accuracy, and supporting financial operations that keep a company running smoothly, this could be a great fit.

Primary Responsibilities
You'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes, including:
- Accurate and timely payroll processing
- Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Handling tax filings (City, State, Federal, School, Workers' Comp)
- Generating payroll and financial reports in compliance with company policies
Secondary Responsibilities
- Prepare and compile financial statements and management reports
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and government regulations
- Assist with general ledger activities, journal entries, and month-end close
Key Duties Include
- Prioritizing and scheduling payroll and AP workloads
- Processing payroll and vendor payments efficiently and accurately
- Managing AR, including invoicing and collections follow-up
- Auditing employee time and resolving discrepancies
- Maintaining payroll and AP records in compliance with legal standards
- Producing detailed payroll and management reports
- Supporting HR and other departments with payroll-related inquiries
- Preparing journal entries and documenting financial transactions
- Executing monthly closing and reporting processes
- Assisting with audits, special projects, and process improvements
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to interpret payroll data and tax regulations
- Effective communication with employees and vendors
- Solid math and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Basic accounting knowledge
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma (required)
- Bacchelor's degree preferred
- At least 2 years of accounting-related experience
Work Environment
- Primarily sedentary (sitting, talking, listening for extended periods)
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
