Job Description

Title: Staff Electrical Engineer, RoboticsThis position is based in our Campbell, California offices. This position is on-site & full-time Why Telos Health?At Telos Health, an Imperative Care company, we are developing novel robotic-assisted technologies and interventional capabilities that will forever change the disparate outcomes of ischemic stroke – a disease that impacts close to a million people a year in the U.S., and 10 million worldwide.  Not only is Telos changing the way stroke is treated, but also bringing this treatment to the greater population who is currently without. We are actively building a team who is focused on developing novel solutions for this complex disease – a disease in which one in four adults will face in their lifetime.What You’ll Do As an advanced professional in this field, the Staff Electrical Engineer will be an integral part of the R&D team contributing to design control documentation including requirements, test method development, risk analysis, and implementing electrical safety design and documentation (including testing) that complies with regulatory requirements of the FDA, UL and TUV (specifically those related to IEC, EMC, CISPR, etc).  This position collaborates broadly across engineering teams providing high level of expertise in electrical engineering to independently resolve difficult technical problems during the development of the next generation of Imperative Care technology that is changing the future of healthcare.
  • Develop board-system level electronics architectures for complex electromechanical devices
  • Design mixed/analog, power electronics, and digital circuit design and layout of simple to sophisticated printed circuit boards and development of the required design documentation.
  • Lead board bring-up validation, testing, and debugging of newly designed electrical hardware.
  • Advise on requirement definition, design reviews and design FMEA.
  • Perform hardware testing for IEC medical safety, EMC safety standards such as IEC60601-1, IEC60601-1-2, and EMC compliance in a regulated environment (UL, TUV, FDA).
  • Develop specifications, system protocols, test protocols for design verification activities and compliance testing in a regulated environment (UL, TUV, FDA).
  • Communicate project status and plans to the multi-functional engineering and program management team, with mastery and excellence.
What You’ll Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline, and a minimum of 8 years ofexperience leading and executing design and development of complex electrical systems fromfeasibility through to production, from board to system level; or equivalent combination of educationand work experience in the medical device or related regulated industry.
  • Proven expertise with board level printed circuit design, including schematic design, PCB designin both analog/mixed signal/power electronic and digital domains.
  • Strong proficiency with lab test equipment like multi meters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
  • High level of expertise in troubleshooting sophisticated systems to include circuit issues, EMI/EMC/ESD mitigation.
  • Demonstrated experience of design, test and solving for medical safety and IEC EMC standards, such as IEC60601-1, IEC60601-1-2, IEC61000-4-6 or equivalent, for complex medical systems.
  • Proven track record providing technical direction, guidance, and expertise to technical teams.
  • Expertise in technical/design leadership and management of complex projects including management of external contractors, partners, and suppliers
  • Excellent problem-solving skills in company-wide complex related matters.
