The role has moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of operational judgment.The Electrical System Staff Engineer demonstrates leadership in the execution of business priorities, engaging globally and with industrial partners to develop advanced/emerging technologies and to support significant upgrades of fielded product lines. The Electrical System Staff Engineer is responsible for leading the proposal, development, integration, validation, certification/qualification, electromagnetic compatibility and lightning protection of the Turbofan and Rotorcraft Engines.As Electrical System Staff Engineer, you will be involved in development of Electrical component/systems over full product design cycle (concept to new product introduction) for use in turbofan turbojet and turboshaft turboprop engine controls for customers such as Airbus, Boeing, Sikorsky, Bell and Leonardo helicopter as well as the US Army/Navy/Airforce, and other foreign military customers. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, test, and validate solutions that meet stringent aerospace standards and regulatory requirements. In addition, you will be responsible to address critical field, manufacturing, and production issues related to engine’s electrical systems and components.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include Electrical Engineering with focus on EMI (Electromagnetic Interface) and Lightning.
  • Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
  • Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions.
  • Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
  • Conduct EMI/EMC analysis and testing to ensure compliance with aerospace standards (e.g., DO-160, MIL-STD-461).
  • Develop and implement lightning protection strategies for aircraft systems and components.
  • Collaborate with design teams to integrate EMI and lightning mitigation techniques into product designs.
  • Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions for EMI/EMC and lightning-related issues.
  • Support certification efforts by preparing technical documentation and reports.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, standards, and emerging technologies related to EMI and lightning protection.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in design engineering

Desired Characteristics

  • Master's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Proven experience in EMI/EMC testing, analysis, and mitigation techniques in aerospace industry.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience with simulation tools such as CST Studio, ANSYS HFSS, or similar.
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems and avionics.
  • Certification in EMI/EMC or lightning protection.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.

The base pay range for this position is 149,500.00 - 200,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan.  This posting is expected to close on April 13th, 2026.
