Job Description

The new Ford Universal EV Platform and Ford Universal EV Production System were born from a team that combines the discipline, expertise and scale of a company with 122 years of experience with the speed, innovation and first-principles thinking of a California-based electric vehicle hardware and software skunkworks team. The result: a simple, efficient, flexible ecosystem to deliver a family of affordable, electric, software-defined vehicles - the first of which is a midsize, four-door electric pickup that will be assembled at Ford's Louisville Assembly Plant for U.S. and export markets. Its launch is scheduled for 2027.

Advanced EV's Design Concept Engineering team is looking for a Staff Mechanical Engineer to join our fast-paced development, working on cutting-edge features with complex hardware, sensors and software. You will be responsible for developing product architectures and technology concepts, particularly in the areas of electronics systems. This includes development of early prototypes and new technologies leading into scalable mass production. This work focuses on product-differentiating, customer-facing designs for new products features and development. A good candidate would have a strong background in consumer electronics or user-focused automotive electronics. Experience with working with oversea CMs and production processes are preferred.

We aren't just building electric cars; we're redefining the relationship between the driver and the road. Joining Ford's Advanced EV means working with the nimble mindset of a tech startup, backed by the resources and manufacturing powerhouse of a century-old icon. From next-gen battery chemistry to aerodynamic breakthroughs, we are the team proving that the future of electric is rugged, capable, and undeniably Ford. You'll join an agile team of doers pioneering our EV future by working collaboratively, staying focused on only what matters, and delivering excellence day in and day out. Join us to make positive change by helping build a better world where every person is free to move and pursue their dreams.
