Who You Are

You're a design leader who thrives in ambiguity and sees constraints as creative opportunities. You've built products from 0→1, established design systems that scale, and led teams through rapid growth. You balance strategic thinking with hands-on craft, moving fluidly between setting vision and pushing pixels. Most importantly, you're energized by the challenge of making complex financial software genuinely elegant.

We're looking for teammates who value in-person collaboration and are within commutable distance of our NYC or San Francisco offices (or willing to relocate). Team members are required to work in-office Tuesdays and Thursdays, plus one additional flexible in-office day. Certain roles may require additional in-office time based on function.

What You'll Do

• Define and drive the full design process from user research, product flows, and wire-framing to UI design

• Work closely with product and engineering to define both the short-term tactical goals and long-term product vision and roadmap

• Establish design principles and set the direction for Rillet's design system

• Lead user research initiatives

• Understand the array of user goals, business requirements and technical constraints that shape our product

• Pull inspiration from various sources to invent new interaction paradigms in finance & accounting

• Lead a team of product designers, acting as a mentor and coach to ensure their success

• Recruit and onboard new product designers

• Be hands-on and contribute directly to Rillet's UX/UI design

Who We're Looking For

• 5+ years end-to-end design experience from research to implementation across all stages of the design process

• 3+ years leading design teams in product-driven B2B SaaS environments

• Proven ability to solve complex design problems and visualize complex systems, from financial concepts to design system components

• Strong cross-functional communication skills with ability to work effectively with internal teams and customers

• Challenger mindset that questions the status quo and pulls inspiration from diverse sources to invent new paradigms
