Job Description
Position Definition:
Under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator, the incumbent will serve as the clinical research coordinator for an NIH-funded research projects related to mild cognitive impairment (MCI).
Essential Functions:
- Assist with subject recruitment, including placing advertisements and study flyers, conducting phone screening of prospective participants, working with the team to schedule research subjects, collecting clinical and demographic data, administering questionnaires and cognitive assessments.
- Maintain and update databases, subject information folders, and subject payment forms
- Work with study team to develop new procedures when deemed necessary.
- Responsible for providing and documenting Informed Consent
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- BA/BS degree in Neuroscience, Biology, Psychology or related fields preferred
- Comfort working with older adults with mild cognitive impairment
- Computer literacy with full working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Access, and the Internet
- Acquiring knowledge of research functions.
- Acquiring ability to perform research analysis duties
- Ability to effectively manage time, multiple projects, tasks, priorities and see assigned parts of projects through to completion on deadline
- Basic communication skills: verbal and written
- Self-motivated for a fast-paced learning environment
- Ability to exercise tact and discretion in handling a variety of confidential material
- Must commit to at least a year
Working Conditions/Environment:
The work environment for this position will include an indoor office and a medical research environment. It may include some minor annoyances such as noise, temperature variations, etc. The incumbent may sustain posture in standing or seated position and may utilize a computer terminal for prolonged periods of time.
VA Onboarding Requirements:
NCIRE is an affiliate organization of the San Francisco VA Health Care System (SFVAHCS), which requires all candidates to complete SFVA onboarding in addition to NCIRE's onboarding process. The SFVA is a federal agency that requires a federal background check, occupational health clearance, vaccines and immunizations, and drug testing for certain positions. Drug testing may include screening for marijuana which remains an illegal substance according to federal law. The failure to pass required drug testing will disqualify candidates from employment.
The base wage range for this position is $25.24 - $40.60 per hour. The wage actually offered to a successful candidate will take into account various relevant and non-discriminatory business factors including, without limitation, the candidate's geographic location, job-related experience, knowledge, and skills, and education, as well as internal equity considerations. A successful candidate may also be eligible to earn additional compensation including bonuses.
