Job Description

Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.

Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.

As a member of the IP Protection team, you will build and operate data protection solutions that safeguard Micron's intellectual property throughout its lifecycle. You will partner with team members across all of Micron's business areas to identify and reduce data exposure risks, improve data governance, and enable secure collaboration both inside and outside the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the enterprise DLP authority, developing and managing data loss prevention policies spanning devices, electronic messaging, internet activities, cloud applications, and storage platforms.

  • Develop and optimize advanced detection capabilities for source code, hardware designs, algorithms, product roadmaps, and other intellectual property using regex, fingerprints, EDM/IDM, and ML-based classifiers.

  • Continuously tune DLP policies to reduce false positives and negatives while implementing automated remediation and tiered response workflows.

  • Monitor and protect against data ex-filtration across key egress channels, including USB devices, email, SaaS applications, personal webmail, messaging platforms, generative AI tools, and cloud sync services.

  • Develop detections for anomalous access and ex-filtration activities, such as bulk downloads, repository mirroring, and unusual after-hours behavior.

  • Author and maintain information protection standards, DLP governance, runbooks, exception processes, and data points to measure program health and operational efficiency.

  • Lead enterprise-wide data classification, sensitivity labeling, rights management, and conditional access initiatives to safeguard critical information internally and externally.

  • Drive large-scale, highly technical information protection programs, bringing to bear auto-labeling, workflow integration, and policy-based controls to strengthen intellectual property protection at scale.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of information security experience with hands-on expertise in Data Loss Prevention (DLP), data classification/labeling, and enterprise-scale policy design across endpoints, email, web, SaaS, and cloud environments.

  • Strong technical foundation in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience, with deep knowledge of networking, operating systems, intellectual property data protection, and enterprise data movement.

  • Experience with AI and automation technologies, including machine learning concepts, Copilot Studio, UiPath, SharePoint, and cloud AI platforms such as Azure AI Foundry and AWS Bedrock.

  • Proficiency with cloud and security operations technologies, including Azure, AWS, GCP, SIEM/SOAR platforms, and scripting/automation tools such as PowerShell, Python, and Splunk SPL.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to operationalize security controls through custom keywords, dictionaries, automation, and collaboration across multiple functions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience in technology or science and relevant professional certifications.

  • Semiconductor experience protecting Intellectual Property.

  • Deep expertise in information security, cloud platforms, automation, and technology powered by artificial intelligence, passionate about safeguarding critical intellectual property and business assets across global enterprises.

As a world leader in the semiconductor industry, Micron is dedicated to your personal wellbeing and professional growth.
