As a Staff Technology Manager, you will lead the vision, roadmap and development of GM's compute hardware strategy for GM's current and next generation vehicles.

An essential part of this role involves leading the hardware development for vehicles set to launch years down the line. This means staying ahead of industry trends, identifying emerging technologies, showcasing potential experiences, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to shape the technology roadmap for the vehicle.

We're looking for someone proactive, hands-on, deeply technical, and passionate about delivering reliable, innovative compute platforms that improve our vehicles.

What You'll Do:

  • Work closely with engineering and vehicle teams to plan and deliver infotainment and active safety platforms to meet vehicle timelines.
  • Perform analysis to ensure the compute platform exceeds cost, mass and power targets of ICE and EV vehicles.
  • Engage Product teams across GM to ensure our compute platforms can deliver world class features for our customers.
  • Identify chipsets and compute architectures for future vehicles and generate compelling strategies for stakeholders.
  • Engage with suppliers and ecosystem partners to monitor trends in SoC, GPU and NPU technologies that will benefit the vehicle.
  • Lead competitive benchmarking, teardown analysis, and technical evaluations to drive cost, space, and performance improvements.
  • Define and track KPIs to measure the impact and success of deployed hardware solutions.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • 7+ years working on compute hardware technologies such as SoCs, GPUs, MCUs, Board Support Packages and embedded OS software.
  • 3+ years working in vehicle technology management in roles such as Product Management and/or Engineering management in the automotive industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Math, or Physics
  • Deep knowledge of embedded hardware and software development.
  • Demonstrated expertise in writing, with the ability to effectively balance and integrate vision, strategy, and technical details in a cohesive narrative.
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills, and the ability to communicate at all levels of the company

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Master's degree in Engineer and/or Business Administration.
  • Knowledge of Linux kernel internals (e.g. memory management, synchronization, device driver framework)
  • Experience working with vehicle development processes.
