Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Stainer Helper to join the door shop team at a facility in Salt Lake City. This position supports the finishing department by assisting with staining, prepping, and handling wood doors to ensure high-quality finished products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with preparation of doors for staining and finishing
- Clean, sand, and prep wood surfaces prior to stain application
- Apply stain, sealers, or finishes under supervision as needed
- Move, rack, and organize doors throughout the finishing process
- Inspect doors for defects and report quality issues
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all safety procedures and shop guidelines
- Assist lead finishers and other shop staff as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous woodworking, staining, or finishing experience preferred (not required)
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move large door materials safely
- Comfortable standing for long periods and performing repetitive tasks
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
