Production Manager – Structural, Misc., & Ornamental Steel

About the Opportunity:

We’re looking for a seasoned Production Manager with a strong background in the steel industry—particularly structural, ornamental, or miscellaneous steel fabrication. This is a critical leadership role within our organization, focused on optimizing production workflows, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring on-time project delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day production operations and scheduling

• Assist with Purchasing

• Lead, train, and manage shop personnel to ensure efficiency and safety

• Coordinate closely with project managers, estimators, and the fabrication team

• Ensure quality control procedures are followed throughout production

• Continuously look for ways to improve processes, timelines, and output

• Interpret and work with technical drawings and blueprints

• Support implementation of new software systems (ERP/fabrication management tools)

Preferred Experience:

• 5–10 years of experience in steel fabrication production management

• Background in structural, ornamental, or miscellaneous steel is strongly preferred

• Proficiency with Bluebeam, Excel, and standard Microsoft Office tools

• Familiarity with Tekla PowerFab or Strumis, or similar ERP systems is a big plus

• Understanding of fabrication machinery, including:

  • ALT Lightning Rail table (working with .dxg/.dwg files)

  • Bendtech Dragon A400 (uses 3D modeling files from Tekla and similar)
