Steel Receiving Coordinator/Saw Operator

Job title: Saw Operator/Receiving Coordinator 

Reports to: CNC Foreman 

Supervisory responsibilities: None 

Summary/objective: Specialty Tooling Systems (STS) is seeking a Steel Receiving Coordinator/Saw Operator to join their day-shift team. This position verifies and keeps records on incoming steel shipments using the crane and forklift. Additionally, they are responsible for banding skids for shipping details. 

Essential functions:  

• Manage the receiving of steel shipments and unload properly 

• Band skids for shipping details out

• Receive, identify and log in all items received

• Checks and signs delivery slips for received items 

• Assists the shop helpers with unpacking merchandise- verifies the quality and quantity of items against supporting documents 

• Records damaged or defective items, and informs the Manager of issues 

• Completes required forms and ensures proper documentation of all shipping and receiving items 

• Ensure that all incoming steel shipments are properly labeled with identifying information and that correlating documents are available with each shipment 

• Assist with data entry and project follow-up as requested by the department lead 

Required competency, education, and experience:  

• High school diploma or GED 

• Ability to read a tape measure

• Ability to safey operate a crane and forklift

• Detail oriented and very organized 

Work environment: Manufacturing floor.

Physical demands:  

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds 

• Ability to sit for long periods of time 

• Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk 

• Repetitive hand motions 

• Ability to read, write and speak English competently 

• Prolonged use of computer 

Position type and expected hours of work: Full time, day-shift, 6 am to 4:30 pm.

Travel: None
