Overview

We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Manager to oversee Central Sterile Processing (CSP) operations within an acute care hospital in Tamarac, Florida.

This leadership role partners closely with Surgical Services to ensure full compliance with accreditation standards, infection prevention protocols, and regulatory requirements. The Manager is responsible for maintaining operational efficiency, quality control, staff development, and instrument sterilization processes across the department.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and daily oversight of the Sterile Processing Department.

• Supervise orientation, training, scheduling, and performance management of CSP staff.

• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, state, and federal regulatory standards.

• Oversee instrument decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution workflows.

• Maintain quality assurance processes for instrument tracking and sterilization documentation.

• Develop and revise department policies and procedures.

• Monitor equipment maintenance and ensure operational readiness.

• Collaborate with Surgical Services leadership to support OR efficiency and case flow.

• Promote safe work practices and infection control standards.

Qualifications

Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Certification from an approved Sterile Processing technical program.

• Minimum 3–5 years of sterile processing experience.

• Lead or supervisory experience in an acute care hospital setting.

• BLS certification (required within 30 days of hire).

Preferred

• National certification (CRCST, CBSPD, or equivalent).

• Strong knowledge of instrument tracking systems and OR workflow.

• Experience managing productivity, quality metrics, and staff development.
