About Greenville Hospital

Orientation/Training
New team members are required to complete a Sterile Processing educational training course. The first 7 weeks of this 90-day course are mandatory 1st shift 0700-1530 Monday-Friday. Once the course is completed, the team member will transition to their hired shift times for the remainder of orientation.
Scope of work
Responsible for inspecting, disinfecting, assembling, processing and distributing patient care instruments, equipment and supplies in accordance with established policies, procedures and Association of Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) standards. Acts as a role model and resource to peers and other members of the health care team related to processing of equipment, instruments, and supplies. Stores, rotates and ensures all instruments and supplies are correctly labeled.
Qualifications
Required High School Diploma or equivalent
Has completed 120 day department orientation. Required
CRT-Registered Central Services Technician, Certified (CRCST) - HSPA Healthcare Sterile Processing Association 1 1/2 Yrs required Or
CRT-Sterile Processing Distribution Tech (CSPDT) - CBSPD Certification Board for Sterile Processing & Distribution Must obtain certification within 18 months of original hire date. Once certification is obtained, will be eligible to move into the intermediate tech role. 1 1/2 Yrs required
