About the role:

The Steward is an essential member of the Food & Beverage team dedicated to providing exceptional quality and service to our guests. The Stewarding team works tirelessly behind the scenes making sure that every piece of silver shines and every plate sparkles. Stewarding ensures that each outlet and function has an adequate supply of clean dishes and silverware and also keeps the kitchen and the "heart of house" clean and safe.

We are looking for individuals who possess a high level of attention to detail and a strong work ethic. The ability to multitask and prioritize is also essential for this position. Applicants must be comfortable around industrial size dish machines and have the ability to learn their operation. The Steward position is physical by nature and requires the applicant to be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Repetitive motion and movements are essential functions of this position. The ability to safely utilize the proper cleaning and polishing solutions is also required. The Steward is in direct contact with the entire Stewarding and Kitchen team and strong communication skills are essential.

What you will do:

• Clean and sanitize china, glass, and silver using the dishwashing machine; load and unload dishware and flatware from dishwashing machine and store properly

• Clean and sanitize all pots, pans, and kitchen utensils using the correct cleaning and rinsing solutions; safely utilize and store all cleaning compounds, chemicals, and materials including soaking solution utilizing the correct protective clothing

• Clean, dust, seep, mop, polish, scrub, wash, strip, and buff in all kitchen production areas, hallways, including purchasing hallway and loading dock

• Maintain the cleanliness of cafeteria including but not limited to sanitizing tables, chairs, walls, floors, hotline and salad bar; restock condiments and paper goods as necessary; restock and breakdown plates, flatware, glasses, all food and beverage items as necessary

• Set up salad bar items; set-up hotline with food retrieved from kitchen

• Date all food containers and rotate as per policies, making sure that all perishables are kept at proper temperatures; check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set up. Note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages; return all food items not used to designated storage areas, being sure to cover/date all perishables; assist in setting up plans and actions to correct any food cost problems; control food waste, loss and usage per policies

• Safely utilize and store all cleaning compounds, chemicals, and materials including soaking solution utilizing the correct protective clothing

• Review daily requisitions and complete, as appropriate; set up, maintain, organize and breakdown of all workstations in all work areas

• Banquet set up, and any other duties related to the Banquet Steward position

• Ability to ensure safety procedures are followed and able to notify security of any accidents or injury

• To report equipment malfunctions promptly and accurately

• Perform any other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff

• Respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation

What you bring:

• Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language

• High school education or equivalent experience

• At least 6 months experience within the same or similar position with Four Seasons or other organization. Hotel or restaurant experience preferred

Schedule & Hours:

This position requires an applicant with a flexible schedule and the ability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays.
