- Checks expiration dates of supplies:
- Checks expiration dates on supplies in all inventory locations and removes any supplies that have expired. Follows policy and procedure for removing expired supplies from inventory.
- Enters patient charges:
- Enters patient charges on a daily basis according to policy and procedure. Maintains patient confidentiality for all information that contains any patient data.
- Completes inventory process and delivers supplies according to priority.
- Replenishes par levels carts according to schedule. Delivers requested supplies according to policy and procedure with no more than six (6) documented and validated complaints per year. Must be able to push and/or pull carts with at least one hundred (100) pounds of supplies.
- Enters supply requisitions:
- Enters supply requisitions on a daily basis according to policy and procedure. Fills and delivers supply requisitions according to policy and procedure.
- Affixes patient charge labels to medical supplies prior to distribution.
- Chargeable supplies have patient charge labels attached prior to distribution. Patient charge labels are affixed to the supplies within twenty-four hours of receipt.
- Assists in conducting physical inventory:
- Follows policy and procedure for performing physical inventories. Counting errors do not exceed three percent (3%) of total items counted during any single physical inventory.
- Health Requirements:
- Maintains mental and physical conditioning to perform duties. Must be able to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods. Must be able to lift safely eighty-five (85) pounds. Must be able to perform considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
- Punctual Attendance:
- Maintains regular hours according to established work schedule with no more than six (6) occurrences of unscheduled absences or tardiness per year.
- Maintains a good rapport with the Medical Staff, Public, Patients, and Employees:
- Professional and ethical relations are maintained with no more than three (3) documented and validated complaints per year.
- Team Participation:
- Completes assignments in a timely manner. Informs supervisor of need for assistance.
- Communicates effectively with supervisor and co-workers. Exhibits a positive attitude towards change and use constructive methods to voice suggestions.
- Communicates with Operations Coordinator inventory variances:
- Alerts Operations Coordinator of any inventory variances. Writes on Stock Out board any item that is out of stock or when the last item is removed from the shelf.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment:
- Storeroom and nursing par level locations are cleaned by removing empty boxes, dusting shelves, and organizing supplies in an orderly manner. Cardboard is removed from the storeroom ad nursing par level locations according to policy and procedure.
- Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, and safety programs.
- Reads and supports hospital mission statement, hospital policies, and all related department policies and procedures. Maintains a positive attitude and a willingness to support all hospital activities and employees without two (2) documented and validated complaints per year.
- Special Consideration:
- The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure the safety of special populations of patients when providing services where such populations may be present (i.e. Pediatrics, Crossroads, etc.) Tools, equipment, chemicals, and supplies are not left unattended in patient care areas or other areas where they may injure patients, visitors, or employees.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Licensure/Certification: None.
- Experience: Minimum of two years of supply chain or similar work experience.

- Experience: Warehouse experience.
- Prior experience in a hospital, healthcare system, or related service-oriented environment.
- Familiarity with Augusta Health’s systems, workflows, or organizational culture is a plus.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
- Work involves working holidays, weekends, and evenings. Overtime is required for this position.
