Strategic Change Management - Assistant Vice President

The Automation & Workflow Solutions Team is a strategic transformation function within Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. Positioned at the intersection of process reengineering and technology, the A&W Team leads large-scale initiatives that drive operational excellence through workflow, automation, software/application development, artificial intelligence, and intelligent document processing solutions. The team plays a key role in creating widespread efficiency that enables a shift in capacity towards higher-value clients and business-focused activities.

We are seeking a candidate who is energized by the opportunity to drive transformative change at scale. The candidate will help drive initiatives that modernize business processes and deliver technology solutions that redefine how work gets done.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Support and execute critical strategic change initiatives from concept through post-execution measurement, including process design, impact analysis, user testing, rollout planning, and success metric tracking.

  • Support established program governance processes, including milestone tracking, risk and issue management, decision logs, and structured reporting to ensure transparency and accountability.

  • Develop and refine executive-level materials (PowerPoint), including steering committee updates, status reports, and presentations that clearly communicate progress, risks, and key decisions.

  • Serve as a liaison between business, technology, operations, and field teams to support platform solutions and new process creation.

  • Plan and support the facilitation of meetings with cross-functional teams, control partners, and senior management by preparing materials, capturing decisions, and tracking follow-ups.

  • Coordinate end-to-end program execution, including stakeholder communications, change management activities, and rollout support.

  • Identify and document critical user journeys, use cases, workflows, and business processes aligned to strategic objectives.

  • Provide subject matter support to help integrate technology solutions and business strategies into existing platforms and operating models.

  • Coordinate with stakeholders across functions to gather input, provide updates, and ensure alignment.

Skills Required

  • Advanced PowerPoint expertise, with demonstrated ability to develop clear, concise, and visually effective executive-level presentations.

  • Executive level written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, structured messaging.

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in tracking deliverables, risks, and dependencies.

  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple concurrent priorities.

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to structure ambiguity into actionable plans.

  • Highly detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy, quality, and completeness of deliverables.

  • Self-starter with strong ownership and accountability.

  • Ability to simplify and communicate complex subject matter to diverse audiences.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in wealth management, consulting, or similar roles requiring strategic execution and stakeholder coordination.

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Experience with Agile or technology delivery methodologies preferred.

  • Experience designing and delivering Agentic AI and/or Generative AI solutions is a plus.

  • Experience delivering enterprise workflow and intelligent automation solutions is a plus.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $140,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs
