Strategic Communications Specialist Opportunity
Tallahassee State College (TSC), recently recognized as one of the Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges for 2025, is excited to announce a full-time opportunity for the position of Strategic Communications Specialist - P02489 with the Communications and Marketing.

What You'll Do
The Strategic Communications Specialist position is housed within the Office of Communications and Marketing and reports to the Director of Strategic Communications. The Strategic Communications Specialist plays a critical role in shaping and delivering messages to support the College's goals through the development and implementation of communication strategies that broaden the impact of its programs.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Creating, editing, and adapting content for multiple platforms, including press releases, social media, the College website, and other communications, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with the College's brand and messaging standards.
Leading social media efforts by developing content calendars, posting and monitoring accounts, and engaging audiences.
Supporting media relations efforts, including drafting press releases, maintaining media lists, pitching stories, and responding to inquiries.
Managing departmental communications tools, including media monitoring systems, and producing regular analytics reports to evaluate performance.
Collaborating with campus partners to support College-wide communication initiatives and ensure consistent messaging across departments.
Supervising and mentoring interns, providing guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
Performing other related duties as assigned.
Who We're Looking For
We're seeking a candidate who brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for education and student success. Our ideal candidate will have:
A Bachelor's degree in a related field of study, and three (3) years of experience in communications, marketing, journalism, or public relations; or a combination of education and/or experience.
Writing, proofreading, content creation, and data analysis experience are highly desired.
