Job Description

Job Summary:

Under direct supervision, performs manual labor to maintain and make repairs to public right-of ways and properties. In addition to using manual hand tools, may be required to operate some equipment and small machinery.

Major Responsibilities:

Constructs and/or repair streets, alleys, and sidewalks made of asphalt or concrete
Constructs and/or repairs storm sewers, catch basins
Maintains right-of-ways
Sprays pesticides and herbicides
Trims trees using a bucket truck
Removes brush
Mows and brush hogs
Trims grass using a weed eater
Performs other duties as assigned, including assisting other departments as required.

Minimum Qualifications & Required Knowledge:

High school graduate or GED
Valid Oklahoma Class "D" Driver License
- Required to obtain a Commercial Driver's License-Class A or Commercial Driver's License-Class B within six (6) months of hire.
Knowledge of relevant city, state, and federal laws, regulations, and policies
Knowledge of hazards and safety regulations relevant to the department
Knowledge of equipment, materials, methods, and procedures used in maintenance, construction, and repair activities
Knowledge of city infrastructure
Skill in the operation of light and heavy construction equipment
Skill in oral and written communication
