Job Description
Structural Engineer (PE)Location: Salt Lake City, UT(Flexible hybrid schedule)Pay Range:$118,000 $199,500 per year, with flexibility depending on experienceYou dont need to meet 100% of the job requirements to apply. If this isnt the right opportunity for you, please still apply, as I work with many engineering firms where your background may be a great fit.Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer (PE) to support engineering design, analysis, and inspection efforts for heavy industrial projects across mining, energy, oil & gas, petrochemical, and material handling sectors. This role focuses on brownfield infrastructure, existing facility modifications, and structural upgrades. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working on complex industrial structures and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across project phases.Key Responsibilities Perform structural design and analysis for industrial projects ranging from small modifications to large capital projects Support brownfield and existing structure modifications and upgrades Conduct structural inspections and develop repair and retrofit recommendations Design structural steel and reinforced concrete systems Utilize structural analysis software such as RISA, RFEM, RAM, or similar tools Prepare engineering calculations and technical documentation Track project schedules, deliverables, and documentation Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and support project execution Participate in client meetings and project coordination activities Conduct site visits and field inspections as required Support proposal development and assist with project planning and executionQualifications Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering 820 years of structural engineering experience Extensive experience with structural design, analysis, and inspection work Strong steel and concrete design experience Proficiency with structural analysis software (RISA, RFEM, RAM, or similar) Active Utah PE License or ability to obtain quickly through reciprocity Strong organizational and documentation skills Ability and willingness to travel to project sites Experience supporting brownfield or existing facility modificationsPreferred Qualifications NCEES record Heavy industrial engineering experience Experience in oil & gas, mining, energy, or petrochemical sectors Experience with material handling systems Project management and client-facing experience Additional PE licenses in multiple states (CA, MT, NV, WY, ID, AR, NM, TX)If you are interested in this opportunity, please apply or send your resume to sgwinner@selectek.net to discuss this opportunity in greater detail, or you can call me at 678-802-6621.
