Clarity Partners is seeking a Structural Engineering Project Manager local to Chicago, IL. This role will support structural engineering leadership across large water infrastructure capital improvement initiatives for the City of Chicago. The position will oversee structural design, technical review, and project execution while managing engineering teams and consultant partners. This position will report in a hybrid setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead structural engineering design and oversight for major water infrastructure facilities including treatment plants, pumping stations, and hydraulic structures.
  • Provide structural technical expertise including engineering calculations, design development, and preparation of technical specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards, building codes, and municipal design guidelines.
  • Manage structural project teams and coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering groups.
  • Oversee consultant performance and ensure deliverables meet schedule, quality, and budget requirements.
  • Participate in RFQ preparation, consultant selection, and contract negotiations.
  • Present technical findings and project updates to stakeholders and leadership teams.
  • Supervise structural engineers and project managers while managing workload distribution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • Structural Engineer (SE) license in Illinois or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • 10-15 years of progressive experience in Water/Wastewater Facilities as an engineer and project manager is preferred.
  • Experience supporting municipal infrastructure or water/wastewater facility projects is preferred.
  • Strong project management, financial oversight, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Experience leading engineering teams and mentoring technical staff.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.

Clarity is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For the Structural Engineering Project Manager, the base salary pay range is $150,000 - $200,000. The range represents a good faith estimate that Clarity reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of posting. Compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
