Overview
Job Description
Our client is a well-established structural engineering consulting firm with deep roots in the Texas market and a portfolio that spans everything from high-end multifamily and mixed-use developments to large-scale commercial and hospitality projects. They're known in the region for responsive service, tightly coordinated construction documents, and a collaborative culture where engineers work directly alongside architects and developers from concept through close-out. This isn't a firm where project managers disappear into a silo — you'll report directly to firm principals, carry real ownership over your projects, and have junior engineers and technicians supporting your work from day one. If you're a structural engineer who's ready to run projects rather than just support them, this is where that transition happens.
What You'll Own
- Manage a portfolio of structural engineering projects simultaneously, from conceptual/programming phase through construction administration
- Perform and oversee structural calculations and prepare complete contract document packages
- Coordinate directly with architects, contractors, and design teams throughout the project lifecycle
- Mentor and guide EITs and engineering technicians supporting your projects
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and design teams, maintaining the firm's reputation for responsiveness and technical quality
- Contribute to the continued growth of the Dallas office through strong project delivery and client relationships
- 5–6 years of structural engineering experience, with at least some of that time spent managing or leading projects — you're ready to hit the ground running, not learning the basics on the job
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering required — candidates with civil engineering degrees will be considered only with demonstrated structural engineering project experience
- PE license preferred — candidates who are PE-eligible and actively working toward licensure will be considered
- Proficiency in structural design software; AutoCAD and Revit experience expected
- Strong written and verbal communication skills — you're comfortable in client meetings and can coordinate clearly across disciplines
- Experience with commercial structures, large-scale residential, or multifamily projects preferred; wood design experience is a bonus
- Familiarity with the Texas market is a plus — out-of-state candidates with relevant experience are welcome to apply
- U.S. citizenship required
- Salary: $90,000 – $110,000, commensurate with experience
- Performance-based bonuses
- Full benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance
- Retirement savings plan
- Onsite-first culture in the Dallas office with a path to hybrid flexibility after establishing tenure
- Direct access to firm principals and a clear trajectory for advancement within a growing, multi-office firm
