This position is responsible for laying out, fitting, aligning, and assembling structural steel components according to blueprints and specifications prior to welding.The ideal Structural Fitter has strong blueprint reading skills, experience working with structural steel, and the ability to maintain precise tolerances in a fabrication environment.Required Experience & Skills Previous structural fitting experience preferred Ability to accurately read tape measures and blueprints Strong knowledge of fit-up techniques, layout work, and tolerances Experience working with structural steel components and assemblies Ability to use grinders, torches, and other fabrication tools safely and effectively Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed Reliable transportation and strong work ethic REQUIREDEssential Duties & Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and fabrication documents Measure, lay out, cut, and fit structural steel components according to specifications Align and assemble parts while maintaining required tolerances and dimensions Tack weld components in preparation for final welding operations Use hand tools, power tools, grinders, torches, and measuring instruments as required Verify dimensions and inspect fit-ups to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met Work closely with welders and supervisors to meet production schedules and project requirements Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements Assist with additional fabrication duties as assignedPreferred Qualifications Experience fitting structural steel for heavy industrial or commercial projects Knowledge of welding symbols and fabrication processes Experience working in a structural steel fabrication environment Strong understanding of fabrication tolerances and layout proceduresPhysical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and material handling throughout the shift Ability to work safely around heavy materials and fabrication equipment Comfortable performing physically demanding work in a production environmentWork Environment Industrial fabrication shop environment Exposure to heat, noise, welding operations, and heavy equipment Fast-paced production setting focused on quality and productivity PPE required at all timesWhy You'll Want This Opportunity Competitive pay based on experience and skill level Long-term temp-to-hire opportunity Consistent first-shift schedule Overtime and weekend hours available Opportunity to work on structural steel projects in a team-oriented environmentReady to Apply?Apply today for immediate consideration or call/text us at 918-582-0522 for more information.You can also walk in and apply at:1531 E. 2nd St.Tulsa, OK 74120Monday Friday | 8 AM 4 PMStand-By Personnel
