Job Description
Schedule Information:
Work schedule will be determined based on student's availability. Must have some availability to work during the following weekday hours:
Monday: 8:00am- 4:30pm
Tuesday: 8:00am- 4:30pm
Wednesday: 12- 4:30pm
Thursday: 12- 4:30pm
Maximum hours per week:
20 hours
General Functions:
Provide general office assistance as determined by the Business and Social Sciences division
Answer phones
Greet visitors and students at front desk
Assist students, faculty and staff with daily tasks and special projects
Schedule appointments
Check-in/intake of students
Make copies
Data entry
Give directions
Perform other office duties as needed
Qualifications:
Education Requirements:
In order to apply for this position, you must be a current Harper College student and registered for a minimum of 6 credit hours for each semester (fall/spring) you are working. For the summer session, student aides must be registered for at least 3 credit hours in summer or at least 6 credit hours for the following fall semester. Be eligible for English 097 or higher
Experience Requirements:
Some general office or customer service experience preferably in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Basic knowledge of Excel and Outlook is helpful. Bilingual students are encouraged to apply, but this is not a requirement of the job.
