Student Civil Engineering Intern

JSG is seeking a Civil Engineering student intern to support our client in San Jose. This role offers hands-on experience in both field and office aspects of civil infrastructure construction.Responsibilities:

• Review engineering drawings and specifications.*
• Support construction field activities: site observations, documentation, and coordination with inspectors.*
• Organize and maintain project documentation (RFIs, submittals, change orders, as-builts).*
• Attend construction meetings and take notes.

Learning Opportunities:

• Exposure to civil infrastructure projects and construction management practices.*
• Develop skills in interpreting construction drawings, scheduling, cost tracking, and quality control.*
• Understand project life cycle and basic contract administration processes.

Requirements:

• Pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering)*
• Basic understanding of civil engineering principles and construction terminology.*
• Ability to read plans, observe site activities, organize tasks, and communicate clearly.*
• Comfortable performing site visits and following safety protocols.*
• Must possess a CA driver’s license.
