Job Description:

The division of Pre-College, Online, and Professional Programs (POPP) is seeking a student-focused, detail-oriented Student Finance Representative to support Berklee Online-the premier innovator and largest worldwide provider of online music education. Reporting to the Student Finance Lead, you will serve as a primary remote point of contact for financial inquiries, delivering rapid, high-touch support regarding tuition, payment plans, billing statements, and student accounts. At Berklee, your work directly supports the next generation of creative leaders.

Key Responsibilities

Student Account Counseling & Support:

  • High-Volume Communications: Manage inbound and outbound calls and emails with urgency and care, meeting data-driven engagement metrics during heavy enrollment windows.
  • Financial Advising: Guide students, families, and alumni through tuition statements, payment options, balances, financial holds, refunds, and educational tax forms (1098-T / TL11).
  • General Service Guidance: Answer inquiries regarding registration, add/drop procedures, refund policies, and financial aid options, liaising with Military Affairs or Financial Analytics as needed.

Payment Administration & Operations:

  • Payment Plan Administration: Manage tuition payment plans, update CRM configurations, adjust budgets throughout the enrollment cycle, and follow up on returned payments.
  • Transactions & Account Audits: Process credit cards, checks, and wire transfers into accounting systems. Audit past-due accounts, conduct collections outreach, and support state escheatment procedures.
  • Process Improvement & Mentorship: Track recurring student questions to optimize business processes, while helping onboard, train, and monitor student work-study employees.

What You'll Bring

  • Education: College degree required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of successful customer service experience in higher education, banking, sales support, or a student accounts/financial aid environment.
  • Technical Aptitude: Strong proficiency in spreadsheet tools (Excel, Google Sheets). Familiarity with higher ed software and CRMs (Workday Student, Salesforce, Colleague) is a strong plus.
  • Core Attributes: Exceptional written/verbal communication, sharp attention to detail, and a solution-oriented mindset that thrives under deadline pressure.

Hiring Range: $46,000 to $60,000; salary dependent on experience and education.
