Job Description

Job Title: Student Life Assistant

Department: Student Life and Community Formation

Reports to: Director of Student Life and Community Formation

FLSA Status:

Pay Rate: Term Stipend: Fall $4,000 (17 weeks), Spring $3,750 (16 weeks), Summer (as assigned)

Hours: 15-20 hours per week

Position Summary:

The Student Life Team Members, previously known as RAs and Chaplains, are responsible for the care and community building of single residence halls on the Kentucky Campus. Through a pastoral presence, each team member will use their unique skills and giftings to walk with students in their day to day life, assisting students and groups of students in their spiritual growth and holistic wellbeing as they 'do life' together.

Essential Functions:

  • Student Care

  • Provide direct pastoral care and community fellowship to students in Sundo/Bettie/Central Campus

  • Assist in rhythms of residential housing, including assisting in move in/out procedures, helping with community events, and providing hospitality and care daily to residents

  • Community Engagement and Formation

  • Assist in the development of all residential students spiritual formation along with the leadership of the Formation department by attending events, assisting in chapels, and attending weekly meetings to reflect on the spiritual health and culture of the seminary

  • Gifting Specific Functions

  • As assigned, provide crisis response alongside the Director of Student Life and Community Formation for residential students and the residential halls

  • As assigned, act as the liaison for students for specific maintenance requests and student safety procedures

  • As assigned, organise and oversee regular prayer and worship opportunities, including planning and implementing worship experiences in your residential areas

  • As assigned, organize and oversee belgoning community events for your residential areas and/or for the single residential community
