The Student Program Coordinator reports to Professional Development department manager and/or director and ensures system-wide compliance with visiting health professional student on-boarding, orientation, and system training and access. The Student Program Coordinator is responsible for receiving all visiting student requests, communicating with support departments (Legal, IS, Parking, etc.), and ensuring all necessary paperwork and steps have been completed by the student or academic institution on behalf of the student. This position will serve as the central point of contact for students, academic institution staff, unit managers, and hospital leadership for the purpose of clinical placement.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and experience as a Medical Student Coordinator preferred. Minimum of two years of administrative experience in a healthcare or academic setting required.

Knowledge/Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Self-starter / multi-tasker / team player / problem solver. Work well under pressure. Deadline oriented with excellent organizational skills. Maintain highly sensitive/confidential information. Must be able to work with a diverse group of people.
Other: Always maintain a professional image and exhibit excellent customer relations to patients, physicians and visitors.
Contacts: Physicians, patients, visitors and teammates.
Work Demands/Environment:
Frequent sitting. Frequently requires long periods of working at a computer. Intermittent walking, standing, stooping, bending. May require lifting or moving items up to 25 lbs. Frequent use of finger/hand dexterity. Constant talking or hearing. Corrected hearing and vision to normal range. No exposure to blood, body fluids or tissue. Possible exposure to infectious materials, communicable diseases and/or other conditions common to a healthcare environment. Normal office environment. Requires work under stressful conditions, deadlines, and/or irregular hours. Ability to read and comprehend. Travel may be required.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES% OF TIME
Serve as the first line of contact for visiting students. Receive and maintain all visiting student requests ensuring all required documentation has been received. Organize and maintain documentation in common location. Coordinate with support departments as needed.

Manage the entire student clearance process for completing clinical rotations at RSFH facilities to include:
Student fee requirements
Student onboarding and orientation requirements
Occupational Health requirements
Access control/training requirements
Out-processing requirements

Ensure regulatory requirement, including TJC and DHEC, through regular leader education and documentation audits. Ensure appropriate affiliation agreements are in place for all allied health student clinical rotations according to RSFH policy and procedures. Assist in the management of all allied health program affiliation agreements, reviewing regularly to maintain primary academic partnerships according to workforce demands

Serve as RSFH ambassador to schools and facilitate a positive experience for students.
