Job Summary
Working independently, Safety's Subrogation Specialists are responsible for evaluating recovery opportunities, identifying responsible party coverage, obtaining documentation supporting liability and first-party indemnity payments, and pursuing recovery against other insurance carriers and self-insured entities.
Responsibilities
- Reviews claims to determine potential for recovery
- Identifies responsible party coverage
- Evaluates claim liability assessments and indemnity payments
- Gathers, investigates, and develops supporting documentation to secure appropriate settlements
- Reviews incoming settlement offers
- Negotiates settlements with responsible parties when appropriate
- Prepares files for and files arbitration when appropriate
- Refers appropriate files to collection attorneys
- Develops and maintains documentation, including case maintenance and control over aging files
- Hears arbitrations as an Arbitration Forums arbiter
- Performs other activities as required
