The salary range for this position is from $100,000 to $150,000 per year.

(Full-Time, Exempt position)

I. Job Summary:

We're seeking a visionary, technically rigorous, and dynamic Software Development and Software Program Manager to lead the design and development of next-generation Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools focused on optical interconnect systems. This role is ideal for a systems-level thinker who thrives in multidisciplinary environments and can drive innovation across photonics, electronics, and software engineering, in a cross-functional team environment. The ideal candidate will combine deep domain knowledge, critical thinking, and strong interpersonal skills to create and execute development roadmap, in collaboration of a dynamic set of internal contributors and 3rd party development partners.

II. Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end development of EDA tools tailored for optical interconnect modeling, simulation, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with platform architect, networking engineers, hardware architects, and product managers to define tool capabilities and user workflows.
  • Lead the development of scalable, modular software systems with emphasis on performance, usability, and extensibility.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing team of software engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and transparency.
  • Oversee sprint planning, code reviews, and release cycles with a focus on reproducibility and documentation.
  • Ensure interoperability with existing EDA ecosystems, end tools and standards.
  • Advocate for user-centric design, including visual workflow cards, annotated guides, and simulation clarity.

IV. Required Skills/Abilities:

  • 7+ years of experience in EDA software development, with 3+ years in a technical leadership or managerial role.
  • Proven experience building EDA tools or simulation platforms in domains such as silicon design.
  • Strong proficiency in C++, Python, or similar languages used in EDA environments.
  • Experience with agile development, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to technical transparency and reproducibility.
  • Familiarity with optical modeling, signal integrity, or fiber infrastructure is a strong plus.
  • Leader-mindset, strong technical aptitude and business acumen, with attention to detail.
  • Ambassador of innovation, thought-leadership, and problem-solving.
  • Proven track record of managing complex technical programs and cross-functional teams, from start-up phase to long-term scale-up, that made lasting impact for the customers, community, and the dev. teams.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience with driving executional alignment and operational excellence between internal resources and 3rd party software development partners.

V. Education and Experience:

  • Master's degree in Electrical or Software Engineering
  • 10+ Years as software development lead or 7+ years as software lead in the EDA field

  • Reports to: Director of Emerging Technologies & Strategy
  • Directly Supervises: None

VII. Physical Requirements:

  • Work is performed in an office environment and requires the physical and motor skills typical of an office environment, including, but not limited to: prolonged sitting, working on a computer, using telephones, handheld technology and other office equipment, standing, walking and stooping.
  • May be occasionally required to lift objects such as files, boxes of paper, office supplies, and computer / office equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to routinely concentrate, focus and read for general understanding and analytical purposes and ability to communicate effectively.
