Summary:

Huntington’s internship programs provide emerging talent with meaningful, hands‑on experience aligned to their area of study. Over the course of the interns’ time at Huntington, they gain exposure to key business functions across all segments of the organization. An intern’s experience should be focused on professional growth, skill development, and practical application of academic learning. Interns participate in a structured series of development opportunities, including interactions with senior leadership and career pathing insights. The experience also includes immersion in Huntington’s award‑winning culture through community involvement and team‑based activities. Internships at Huntington are designed to help students build a strong foundation for future career success while contributing to meaningful business initiatives.

Internship Opportunities at Huntington:

Huntington offers internship opportunities for students who are currently enrolled in an academic program and seeking practical, hands‑on experience in their field of study.  Internships take place during a defined period of time and are available across all business segments.

• Rising juniors (Winter 2028 or Spring 2029 grads) may participate in Huntington's Foundations Program, an 8-week, regionally focused experience where students partner directly with a manager and team, contribute to meaningful projects, build professional skills, and explore career opportunities across Huntington and the financial services industry.

All interns participate in a variety of developmental and professional activities designed to support learning and exposure to the organization. Depending on your school year, program components may include:

• Experience in day‑to‑day responsibilities related to their assigned team
• Exposure to broader business functions
• A structured schedule of professional development sessions
• Opportunities to engage with members of the Executive Leadership Team
• Discussions with senior leaders regarding career paths and Huntington’s business areas
• A team project focused on applying Huntington’s innovation framework to a business‑relevant problem

Huntington Insurance Internship Overview

Within Huntington Insurance we will be placing interns in two business areas.

• Insurance Operations Data Analytics- Columbus, OH
• Insurance Sales Enablement & Communications- Charlotte, NC

Insurance Operations Data Analytics Intern

Within Huntington Insurance, the Insurance Operations Data Analytics Intern will support the teams responsible for transforming data into actionable business insights that drive operational efficiency, service excellence, and informed decision-making. Interns will work alongside business leaders and analytics professionals to support data requests, analyze operational performance, and identify opportunities for process improvement across the insurance organization.

This role provides hands-on experience in data mining, reporting, and business analytics within a dynamic insurance environment. Interns will assist with gathering, validating, and analyzing data from multiple sources to support operational and strategic initiatives. Responsibilities may include responding to data requests, developing reports and dashboards, identifying trends and patterns, performing data quality reviews, and creating recommendations that support business decisions.

Interns will gain exposure to industry-leading tools and technologies, including SQL, Tableau, Excel, and other business intelligence platforms. Through meaningful projects, students will develop technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills while learning how data supports insurance operations, client service, and business growth.

Insurance Sales Enablement & Communications Intern

Within Huntington Insurance, the Insurance Sales Enablement & Communications Intern will support initiatives that help insurance professionals effectively engage clients, deliver compelling presentations, and communicate Huntington Insurance's value proposition. The intern will partner with the Sales Enablement team to develop and enhance sales resources, marketing materials, communications, and content that support business development efforts across multiple lines of insurance.

This role provides hands-on experience in sales enablement, communications, marketing support, and project coordination. Interns may assist with creating and updating sales presentations, customer-facing materials, advisor profiles, internal communications, training resources, and digital content. Additional responsibilities may include researching industry trends, supporting special projects and events, analyzing the effectiveness of communications and sales materials, and identifying opportunities to improve processes and resource accessibility.

Successful candidates are creative, detail-oriented, strong communicators who enjoy collaborating with others and are interested in gaining exposure to insurance, sales strategy, marketing communications, and client engagement.

Huntington Insurance Internships positions will be in either Columbus, OH or North Carolina.

Basic Qualifications:

• High School graduate
• Enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate accredited University with at least one quarter/semester of school after the completion of the summer program.
• Demonstrated teamwork and leadership through extracurricular activities and/or work experience
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Proficiency in MicrosoftOffice® applications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Course(s) of study applicable to the area of business
• Ability to maintain professional composure in a dynamic work environment that often requires management and completion of multiple tasks
• Demonstrate sound judgment and ability to apply logical/critical thought processes when developing solutions
• Ability to display a positive business presence with management and external personnel
• A strong interest in Banking as a career
• Relevant Majors: Data Analytics, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Marketing, Communications, Business, Digital Media

• Relevant Coursework: Coursework in risk management, insurance principles, corporate finance, accounting, economics, business analytics, statistics, data analysis, sales and relationship management, business communication, strategic management, organizational behavior, and marketing will help prepare students for success within the Insurance segment.

• Preferred Skills & Interests: Successful candidates are curious, analytical, and relationship-oriented with strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Students should have an interest in insurance, risk management, client service, financial services, and business development, along with a desire to learn how organizations help individuals and businesses identify, manage, and mitigate risk. Experience with SQL, Tableau, Data Mining and Ai.
