Summer Camp Activity Specialist: Photography

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: We are seeking a friendly, reliable outdoor enthusiast to capture photos of our recreation experience at Blue Mountain Adventure Camp. This person travels throughout campgrounds and activities taking photos of our campers & interacting with campers. Qualified applicants should embody the camp's core values of Safety, Fun, and Learning.

Requirements:

• Must be 16 years old but prefer 18 years or older.
• A strong enthusiasm for photography & capturing the adventures in the outdoors
• Specific required experience, interest, and skills in Photography expected.
• Preference for experience taking photos of active events (recreation events, sports, etc.).
• No specific camera experience required - most photos are taken with a phone camera.
• Possesses the ability to work both within a team and independently without direct supervision
• Ability & interest to review & screen photos and upload them to the platform for parents & guardians to see.
• Knowledge & skillset to perform very minimal editing to some photos
• The physical ability to participate minimally with offered activities to get oneself into an optimal photo taking locations.
• Extraordinary ability to provide outstanding guest service
• Enjoys working with children

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

• Assist with activity set-up and clean-up before camp activities begin for the day.
• Hike around from activity to activity, camp group to campground, capturing photos of the adventures kids are on.
• Compile, screen, edit, review, and upload photos to camp parent/guardian platform.
• Willingness and ability to help facilitate camp activities & assist with managing camp groups for children of all ability levels and ages (5 to 15 years old)
• Assists counselors and other camp staff at mealtimes, on field trips, during pick up/ drop off, etc.

IMPORTANT DATES FOR THE 2026 CAMP SESSION:

• June 10th- 11th: High Ropes Course Training - attendance strongly encouraged for all activity specialists (invite only & 18 years old or older required)
• June 15th- 19th: Staff Training Week- attendance MANDATORY for all staff - specialist requirements of attendance may vary.
• The camp session dates are as follows:
• June 22nd / 23rd- June 27th
• July 6th / 7th- July 11th
• July 13th / 14th- July 18th
• July 20th / 21st- July 25th
• July 27th / 28th- August 1st
• August 3rd / 4th- August 8th
• August 10th / 11th- August 15th
• Photography Specialist is expected to be available for all offered weeks of camp. Exceptions may be made under special circumstances.
• Photography specialist typically works onsite Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 10am to 3pm.
