Position Overview: Summer Intern- Installation Tech
We are seeking motivated and dependable individuals to join our team as Summer Intern- Installation Tech in our Overhead Door division. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience while working alongside experienced technicians on job sites.
Interns will be exposed to a variety of systems and projects, including:
- Sectional overhead doors
- Rolling steel doors
- High-speed doors
- Sliding doors and operable partitions
- Dock levelers and gate operators
This internship is ideal for individuals interested in construction management, project management, mechanical work, construction trades, and learning how job sites operate day-to-day.
What You'll Do
- Assist technicians with installation, service, and maintenance of commercial door and dock systems
- Learn basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting techniques
- Support job site setup, material handling, and cleanup
- Help load, unload, and organize tools and materials
- Observe and learn how to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Follow all OSHA and job site safety requirements
- Gain experience operating equipment (as appropriate and supervised)
- Represent Lensing professionally while working with team members and customers
What We're Looking For
- Interest in construction, mechanical, or electrical trades
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Comfort working outdoors and in varying weather conditions
- Ability to perform physical tasks and work at heights (with training)
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance
No Experience? No Problem
