Intern, Design & Engineering

What you get to do:
- Park tours with members of your leadership team
- Planned meeting sessions with members of your leadership team
- Daily walk of all job site, photo documenting progress and preparing daily project report.
- Digitizing and organizing blueprint system of past project blueprints.
- Soliciting contractors to provide bids on equipment and construction services.
- Providing permit status updates and coordinating comment responses with architects and engineers.
- Maintaining up to date project status lists.
- Construction management of small projects.
- Attending design and construction meetings.
- Coordinate with other departments such as Entertainment and Plant Engineering on project updates and related capital paperwork.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, Vendors and our Guests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What it takes to succeed:
- Must be currently pursuing a degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field.
- Commit to working through the 2026 peak operating season (mid May- mid August)
- Must have a basic understanding of construction practice and process.
- Must be able to read blueprints.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite (including Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to perform physical activity throughout day including walking around construction sites, climbing stairs.
- Must be able to wear park-provided PPE for extended periods of time including hard hat and safety vest.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of the construction industry.
- Knowledge of theme park industry.
What else is important:
- Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift and climb/ascend heights, if needed.
- Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing).
- Able to walk/stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to navigate uneven surfaces and walk project sites.
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat. Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors, and cold/heat temperature extremes.
- Perform cleaning duties, including use of cleaning chemicals.
- Work a flexible schedule/hour based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
