Overview
Job Description
- Lead and oversee all field operations related to underground dry utilities
- Ensure health and safety is always the top priority on every job site
- Hold General Foremen and Foremen accountable for productivity, quality, and performance
- Step in to ensure project success when issues arise or when supervision gaps occur
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate work, trades, and resources at least 6 weeks in advance
- Coordinate effectively with General Contractors, clients, and project stakeholders
- Oversee installation of underground utilities including conduit, duct banks, and related infrastructure
- Monitor daily production, progress, and job performance to keep projects on track
- Read and interpret project drawings and specifications to ensure accurate execution
- Ensure proper layout, trenching, and installation practices are followed
- Communicate proactively with leadership when challenges or delays occur
- Foster a strong team environment built on accountability, collaboration, and trust
- Mentor and develop field personnel, building strong and capable crews
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as an underground utilities laborer
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as an operator in the underground utilities industry
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Underground Foreman
- Minimum 4 years’ experience as an Underground Superintendent
- Proven experience with utility-scale underground projects and/or substation work (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of underground utility practices and field execution
- Hands-on experience operating underground utility equipment
- Proven layout knowledge and ability to ensure accurate field execution
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
- Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate complex projects
- Proven track record of building and developing teams
- Strong communication skills with the ability to escalate issues appropriately
- Team-first mindset with a focus on collaboration and shared success
- Self-driven, accountable, and willing to put in the effort required to get the job done
- Willing and able to travel and work extended hours as needed
- Able to pass pre-employment drug screen, background check, and maintain a satisfactory driving record
