Day- 08 Hour (United States of America)This is a Stanford Health Care job.A Brief OverviewUnder minimal supervision of the department manager and the Medical Director, the Neurodiagnostic Tech Supervisor is responsible for providing supervision and management of the Neurodiagnostic Tech team members, including the Patient Testing Tech. This supervisor provides direction and education, works closely with operational leaders, and has oversight of hiring, termination, and professional growth and development of the Neurodiagnostic Tech team members. Performs many of the same clinical duties as subordinate employees. LocationsStanford Health CareWhat you will do
  • Provides daily supervision and management of the Neurodiagnostic Tech team members. Meets with staff to implement, manage, and enforce clinical/practice protocol, procedures, changes, etc. and ensure compliance with new and existing policies and procedures.
  • Supervises and aids in the educational development of any students, residents, and fellows present in the labs through inservice training and review of daily work.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining laboratory procedures and protocols.
  • Communicates to department manager progress, problems and trends in technical areas of electromyography/NCV, EMG, EEG, and EP. May include the following technical areas- EMU, IONM, and TCD.
  • Maintains equipment in proper working condition; calibrates and adjusts equipment as needed; troubleshoots equipment problems and makes minor repairs or reports problems promptly to manager. Familiar with Cadwell equipment, Nihon Kohden equipment or similar.
  • May perform Nerve Conduction Studies including Sensory and Motor conductions, F-Wave measurements, and H-Reflex studies. May perform EEG, cEEG, LTM, IONM, and TCD based on assigned department. May assist physicians in the performance of EMG testing.
  • Utilize cutting edge information and keep abreast of developments in technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support decision-making in patient care.
  • Coordinate the scheduling and assignment of technical staff to achieve optimum patient service, appropriate and equitable division of labor and efficient workflow.
  • Works with staff to identify and resolve problems regarding technical areas of electromyography/NCV, EMG, EEG, and EP. This may include LTM, EMU, IONM and TCD based on assigned department.
Education Qualifications
  • Graduate of an Electroneurodiagnostic technology program accredited by the Committee on AlliedHealth Education and Accreditation and/or equivalent formal training approved by the Medical Director
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Experience Qualifications
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to apply judgment and make informed decisions
  • Ability to speak and write effectively at a level appropriate for the job
  • Ability to direct, supervise, coach, mentor, train, and evaluate work results
  • Ability to work independently, calmly, and effectively under stressful conditions
  • Knowledge (extensive) of neuroanatomy and neurophysiology
  • Knowledge and practice of electrical safety relevant to Neurodiagnostic equipment
  • Customer service, clerical and computer skills (i.e. full competency in Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Knowledge of multiple electrode application techniques
  • Skill: END pattern recognition to provide clinical descriptive information to epileptologist or surgeon
  • Skill: Good technical aptitude
  • Must be able to work On-Call shifts as needed
Licenses and Certifications
  • required to have two (2) of the licenses / certifications listed below:
  • Registered EEG Technologist – R. EEG T. (ABRET) required or
  • Certification for Autonomic Professionals- CAP (ABRET) required or
  • Registered Evoked Potential Technologist- R. EP T. (ABRET) required or
  • Certification of Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring – CNIM (ABRET) required or
  • Certified Nerve Conduction Technologist- CNCT (AANEM) required or
  • Registered Nerve Conduction Study Technologist- R.NCS.T. (AAET) required . or
  • Certification for Long Term Monitoring – CLTM (ABRET) required .

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $66.52 - $88.14 per hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
