Supplier BD Specialist - Security

Summary:The Supplier Business Development Specialist is responsible for recruitment and enablement of new and current customers, internal sales support, supplier relationships and increasing financial growth for the assigned supplier(s). Maximizing revenue, recruitment and growth goals will also be a key part of this position. This position is the face of ScanSource to our supplier and customers and expected to be a role model of professionalism. Travel required.

Essential Job Duties:

Drive business to achieve supplier(s) revenue and growth goals.Develop and plan for growth and retention strategies to increase share of wallet and relationship with assigned supplier(s) and customersSuccessful achievement of recruitment of new customers and growth/development of existing customer baseMaintain high profile for assigned supplier(s) to further productive relationshipsPresent ScanSource message to customers and prospects through one-on-one, live meetings or recorded eventsUnderstand the competitive landscape of both the distributor and supplier(s)Monitor pipeline, recruiting and performance to goal for assigned supplier(s)Maintain product knowledge of assigned supplier(s) and their competitorsWork closely with sales organization to ensure proper account coverageRegular attendance is an essential function of this position

Reporting Relationships:

Direct supervision given from Manager or Director, Supplier Business Development or VP, Supplier ServicesDaily contact with supplier(s) representatives, sales reps, and ScanSource managementWill occasionally make presentations to supplier(s), customers and ScanSource Senior Management

Requirements:

2+ years of previous experience in a supplier, sales or business development rolePrevious experience in distribution channel strategies in a customer facing roleStrong communications skillsSelf-motivated with ability to prioritize and executeExperience with financial reporting and forecasting; proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Preferred:

Four-year degree from an accredited college or university; preferably in business or managementPrior sales or account management experienceSupplier certification(s)SAP and Salesforce.com experienceProficiency in foreign language (Spanish, Portuguese, French, German)

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit a computer terminal for long periods of timeAbility to be physically in attendance at workstation at designated company office location or remote location during normal business hours designated for the positionAbility to travel up to 40% of the timeAbility to lift 20 pounds

Compensation:Base Range: $56,000-$63,000 and total compensation: $80,000-$90,000Actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on a number of variables including work experience, education and skills/ achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.For non-sales roles and sales roles with a variable component, total compensation reflects both a base salary and variable targets.While we're committed to providing top-tier solutions, we're just as committed to supporting our own team.
