Supplier Program Manager

Invariant Corporation is seeking a strong Supplier Program Manager to lead subcontractor and supplier execution for a Department of War weapons development contract. This role is responsible for managing supplier performance as an extension of the program office, with emphasis on subcontractor deliverables, schedule alignment, contractual execution, risk management, and cross-functional coordination. This position requires a professional who can operate at the intersection of program management, subcontract management, and execution control to ensure suppliers perform to program needs. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Duties Include:

  • Lead supplier and subcontractor execution activities in support of a DoW weapons development program.
  • Serve as the program-facing leader for subcontractor performance, deliverables, and execution status.
  • Manage supplier schedules, SDRLs/CDRLs, data submittals, and contractual milestones.
  • Coordinate closely with contracts, procurement, engineering, quality, and program leadership to ensure supplier alignment.
  • Monitor supplier technical, cost, and schedule performance and escalate concerns early.
  • Lead supplier status reviews, performance reviews, and issue-resolution meetings.
  • Track subcontractor action items, open risks, nonconformances, and recovery plans.
  • Ensure supplier deliverables are received, reviewed, and dispositioned on time.
  • Drive accountability for subcontractor execution in accordance with contract requirements and program objectives.
  • Support subcontract formation, change management, and ongoing subcontract administration in partnership with contracts personnel.
  • Assess supplier capacity, readiness, and execution health across development and production-related activities.
  • Provide leadership visibility into supplier risks, dependencies, and performance trends.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must have a minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, Project Management, or related field
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship is a requirement for positions requiring a Security Clearance
  • Experience managing subcontractor or supplier performance on DoW or aerospace programs.
  • Strong understanding of subcontract execution, supplier oversight, and contractual deliverables.
  • Experience with SDRLs, CDRLs, statement of work compliance, and schedule-driven supplier management.
  • Ability to coordinate across contracts, procurement, engineering, quality, manufacturing, and program management.
  • Strong understanding of how supplier performance impacts program cost, schedule, technical execution, and risk.
  • Experience leading formal supplier reviews and driving corrective action.
  • Ability to manage difficult supplier situations with firmness, professionalism, and urgency.
  • Experience working with development suppliers, long-lead hardware, complex assemblies, or technically demanding subcontracted content.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive and customer-facing reporting as needed.
  • Familiarity with FAR/DFARS-driven environments and defense subcontracting practices.

Preferred skills:

  • Experience in subcontract management, supplier performance management, contracts administration, or supply chain program execution.
  • Experience on weapons, missile, energetics, defense electronics, UAS, or other complex defense hardware programs.
  • Familiarity with source selection support, subcontract negotiations, and supplier surveillance.
  • Experience with quality escapes, nonconformances, first article, qualification, and acceptance processes.
  • Knowledge of production readiness, material planning, and long-lead procurement.
  • Active security clearance.
  • Experience working in rapid development or urgent acquisition environment

Work Environment:

  • Sitting for extended periods of time at desk, in telecoms/meetings with peers, management
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to use stairs for access between floors and multiple buildings at customer worksites and Invariant facilities during travel.

This position is expected to be performed only in the state of Alabama.
