Job Description

OverviewThe Supplier Quality Engineer plays a critical role in driving product quality and supplier performance in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. This position partners closely with suppliers, customers, and internal cross-functional teams to solve complex technical challenges and support new product development within the semiconductor equipment industry.This role focuses on components and systems including vacuum systems, actuators, bellows, flowmeters, fan filters, pneumatics, cable assemblies, wiring harnesses, and precision metrology equipment.Key Responsibilities
  • Lead supplier quality and engineering activities across the product lifecycle, with a strong focus on new product introduction (NPI) and vacuum technologies
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned OEM suppliers, ensuring quality, performance, and on-time delivery
  • Travel to supplier sites to conduct audits, assessments, and failure investigations; drive implementation of sustainable corrective actions
  • Manage supplier-related projects, including root cause analysis (RCCA), process improvements, and quality system enhancements
  • Act as a technical liaison between suppliers, product engineering, NPI teams, field service, and customers to ensure rapid issue resolution
  • Apply expertise in quality systems, engineering design, product qualification, and change management (EC processes)
  • Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) feedback to improve supplier processes, reduce defects, and optimize cost and delivery
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field (Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, Manufacturing, Chemical, etc.)
  • 5+ years of experience in supplier quality, manufacturing, or engineering roles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in:
    • Root Cause Analysis (8D, 5 Whys)
    • Failure Analysis (FA)
    • FMEA and Design for Reliability
  • Proven ability to manage critical quality escalations and work effectively across cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence internal stakeholders and suppliers
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with vacuum systems or semiconductor equipment design
  • Background in quality and reliability systems within semiconductor, automotive, aerospace, or similar industries
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects and supplier initiatives
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC), SPC tools, and statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP)
