Job Description
Samsung Biologics is looking for a Supply Chain & Procurement Manager to be responsible for coordinating procurement and supply chain activities across New Product Introduction (NPI) and commercial manufacturing programs in a GMP-regulated environment. They will ensure material readiness, support cost control, and mitigates supply risks to enable successful campaign execution and on-time production.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary procurement interface for clients to drive NPI (New Product Introduction), coordinate campaign readiness, and manage material risk mitigation plans
Safeguard site profitability by managing the SMOG (Slow -moving & Obsolete Goods)frame workandestablishingcost-recovery processes for openPurchase Orders(POs)and blocked stocks
Oversee critical operational gates including procurement-side BOM(Bill of Materials)review, materialcategorizationand safety stock strategy to support for production schedule
Maintain strict GMP compliance in all procurement activities, aligning site execution with global strategies
NPI & Procurement Project Management
Strategic Sourcing Support: Lead and support Procurement-side bid evaluations, raw materialgap assessments, and new material registration processes for incoming client projects.
BOMTimeline Alignment: Review and trackBOMapproval timelines from a procurement perspective to ensure zero delay in project.
Contract & Commercial Review: Review and analyze procurement-related clauses within client agreements and supply contracts to mitigate commercial risks from the procurement side.
Governance & Meeting Leadership: Host andfacilitateroutine supply chain and procurement-focused meetings with clients. Prepare and lead procurement workstream for core team meetings, client site visits, and project kick-off meetings.
Material Inventory Optimization & Financial Cost Recovery
SMOG Framework Management:Establish, support, andmaintaina robust management framework for SMOG to minimize inventory write-offs.
Client Cost Invoicing Support: Manage the end-to-end process for invoicing procurement-related costs to clients with PM(Project Manager), specifically addressing liabilities connected to open POs and blocked stock.
Routine SCM Operations & Client Dropship Support
Material Master & Categorization: Support raw material categorization andmaintainthe accuracy of the material sales master data.
Client Dropship Coordination: Support the client’s dropship and operational support to ensurematerial’savailability.
Risk Mitigation & Campaign Readiness Check
Supply Constraint Management: Proactivelyidentifysupply constraints, issuetimelynotifications to clients, and lead collaborative discussions to execute mitigation plans.
Campaign Readiness Check: Perform campaign readiness checks for the upcoming manufacturing campaigns.
Scenario Assessment: Conduct thorough procurement impact assessments for any revisions to the BOM, production schedules, or batch size changes across all projects.
Experience
5–8+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or project management within pharmaceutical, biotech, or GMP-regulated manufacturing
Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), tech transfer, or manufacturing programs
Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional supply chain activities in a regulated environment
Strong project coordination and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Effective communication and stakeholder coordination skills
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle
Understanding of procurement processes, supplier coordination, and contract basics
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in CDMO or client-facing manufacturing environment
Exposure to dropship logistics or external manufacturing programs
PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred
The anticipated salary range for this position in Maryland is $89,925 to $119,000 plus annual bonus, when eligible. The final salary offered to a successful candidate may vary, and will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, skillset, education, business needs, etc.Benefits:
