Job Description
Position Overview:
This position will assist Buyers in the Purchasing Dept. with completion of special projects. It will encompass all aspects of procurement responsibilities to support this segment of our business. The individual will assist in other purchasing activities as time permits.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain purchase order confirmations
- Contact suppliers for tracking on open orders
- Update delivery dates on orders in the system and communicate updates to the Buyers
- Develop understanding of AS400 and assist buyer in making expedite decisions based on supply base
- Review demand and issue purchase orders
- Gather packing slips for delivered product and receive product in the AS400
- Monitor daily tasks including communication changes to our supply base
- Assisting in sourcing of product and acquiring RFQ's
- Collaborate internally and with suppliers to ensure on time delivery
- Ability to utilize problem solving skills and multi task efficiently
- Assist Buyers with projects as needed
- Maintain records and adherence to ISO 9001 program
- Support and attend meeting requests
- Performs other duties, assignments, and special projects as requested
Position Requirements:
Current college students studying Supply Chain or similar curriculum preferred.
Physical/Mental Requirements Needed to Perform the Essential Functions of the Position:
Normal standing, bending, walking, lifting in an office environment. Ability to verbally communicate with individuals.
