Position Summary
The Supply Chain Inventory Analyst – The Supply Chain Inventory Analyst is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing inventory levels at Pure Infusion’s 75+ clinics to ensure medication availability for patients, minimize waste of medications, minimize Days on Hand of Inventory, control inventory costs, and support regulatory and operational requirements. This role uses inventory data, purchasing trends, medication administration data, and forecasting techniques to identify opportunities for improved inventory management.
The Supply Chain Inventory Analyst partners closely with the Supply Chain team, Clinical Operations, and nurses and other employees at the clinics to identify opportunities to utilize existing inventory before additional medication is purchased and to support accurate inventory reporting and continuous improvement initiatives for inventory management
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develops methods, processes, workflows, standardized reports and dashboards to improve, monitor and optimize inventory management.
- Improves and develops written policies and procedures to optimize inventory management.
- Supports inventory optimization initiatives including Days Inventory on Hand (DIOH), inventory turnover, excess inventory, and medication utilization reporting.
- Validates inventory data across applicable systems and identifies discrepancies requiring correction or escalation.
- Partners with Supply Chain leadership to establish and monitor inventory-related KPIs.
- Contributes to strategic decision making by providing insights into inventory trends, Wholesaler performance and demand forecasting.
- Identifies trapped and slow-moving inventory and evaluates potential redistribution opportunities between clinics.
- Supports periodic physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliation activities.
- Collaborates with Supply Chain Manager to troubleshoot and resolve inventory issues at the clinics.
- Partners with the Clinical Operations team to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Partners with the Supply Chain team to identify available inventory at the clinics that may fill demand for upcoming patient appointments before additional medication is purchased.
- Identifies recurring inventory related issues at the clinics and recommends opportunities for clinic-level education, process improvement, and corrective action.
- Maintains accurate documentation of medication transfers, waste, expiration, returns, and other inventory adjustments.
- Maintains centralized reporting for expiring, expired, wasted, damaged, and excess medications across all clinic locations.
- Monitors medications associated with canceled, rescheduled, or changed patient appointments and identifies opportunities for the transfer or the redistribution of medications.
- Reviews the inventory at the clinics to identify medications approaching expiration and communicates potential risks to Supply Chain leadership and appropriate parties.
- Performs trend and root-cause analysis to identify recurring drivers of medication waste and expiration.
- Participates in cross-training and provides backup support for other Supply Chain functions as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
