Job Summary
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for driving end-to-end supply chain execution and supplier performance for electric motor and gearbox components from concept through production and sustaining. This role ensures on-time quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) through strong supplier execution, recovery planning, capacity management, and proactive risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the motor and gearbox supply chain value stream across lifecycle phases (NPI → ramp → production → sustaining)
- Manage precision machining suppliers (shafts, bearings, carriers, sun gears, ring gears, mettalics)
- Manage gear suppliers (spur, helical, planetary; hobbed vs. ground gears; heat treat and grinding processes)
- Manage bearing suppliers (rolling element, journal; load ratings, L10 life, preload, lubrication systems)
- Oversee injection molded suppliers (tooling readiness, DFM, shrink rates, PPAP validation) - preferred experience
- Lead supplier recovery plans for long-lead gears, bearings, and machined components
- Partner cross-functionally across Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning, Quality, PMO, Logistics, and Finance
- Escalate quality issues post-release and ensure structured root cause closure (8D, PFMEA, control plan updates)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Operations
- 5+ years supporting hardware supply chains (electromechanical preferred)
- Strong understanding of gear manufacturing (hobbing, shaping, grinding, heat treat)
- Experience with precision machining, GD&T, and tolerance control
- Experience owning end-to-end material readiness for complex assemblies
- Strong ERP/MRP and analytical skills
- Ability to drive execution in fast-paced, regulated environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electric motors, gearboxes, EV propulsion, aerospace, or automotive hardware
- Injection molding supplier management experience
- Exposure to NPI, production ramp, and sustaining operations
- Familiarity with PPAP, PFMEA, control plans, and configuration control

Actual compensation offered will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
