The Supply Chain Manager’s primary role is to oversee the supply chain related functions to optimize the flow of Raw Material, WIP and FG inventory to maximize inventory turns and reduce acquisition and carrying costs. The Supply Chain Manager is a key member of the management team who directly interacts with internal/external suppliers and customers in a team-based environment. This position is responsible for efficient and effective inventory and purchasing control functions, driving compliant use of the company’s ERP system modules in collaboration with engineering, production and finance. This position develops, tracks, reviews and reports on supply chain related metrics which reflect performance of the individual, department and company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
Coordinates solutions to any schedule issues with production control and operations team to ensure on-time delivery of purchased productOversees the ordering/expediting of purchased parts as well as manages the related freight expenses Establishes framework to recruit and maintain suppliers that provide high quality products and services at a better price while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conductPrepares and reviews contracts and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price and acceptability of items to specifications and company policy Works closely with Receiving department to ensure proper parts arrived and electronically received correctly into systemMaintain surveillance over inventory to assure good asset management and sufficient inventory to satisfy company production and sales effort Backfills Supply Chain Administer responsibilities as necessaryPublish and maintain purchasing policy and procedures which will offer minimum guidelines describing the basic functions of the department and will provide a framework for relationships with suppliers to the company Studies work flow and sequence of operations in related supply chain departments and recommends process improvementsMaintains inventory data integrity and tracks accuracy of inventory Researches root causes of inventory discrepancies by extracting data from CSI and develop corrective actionPerforms extensive analysis of inventory transactions and reports to identify, process, system and training deficiencies Designs, implements, and tests internal controls, documentation, reporting, training, systems and solutions to drive inventory accuracyEstablishes partnerships with other departments to build inventory accuracy, standard procedures, controls, practices and systems Develops and maintains cycle count activity, by providing counting instructions, variance reporting, and reconciliation of daily counting activity Manage inventory activity by reviewing the reported dollar value and quantities for work-in-process, hardware, and finished goods inventories. Additionally, monitor the adjustments made against these reported values Determining and managing inventory turn rates and re-order points for just-in-time orderingRecommends and develops strategies related to inventory management Assists Finance with month-end inventory reporting and closing activitiesMonitors and audits transactions performed by Stockroom, Inventory and Purchasing personnel Effectively manage, develop, and motivate direct and indirect reportsResponsible for all aspects of performance management including interviewing, hiring, training, performance evaluations, and recognition Participate in and be a key player in operational planning and the management teamImplement improvements and monitors the strategic operation and inventory systems for continuous efficiency Research aged inventory and resolve appropriatelyResponsible for managing FG contract inventory and reporting to the sales team Works on miscellaneous projects as neededEnsures integrity and organization of the Inventory Management System while continually supplying parts to production 3 days ahead of the job’s scheduled start date Manage obsolete and slow-moving inventory with the goal of driving to zero dollarsResponsible for managing the company’s inventory contracts with customers and supply contracts with vendors Responsible for timely and accurate month end reporting for supply chain related processesOwnership and leadership of the company’s purchasing functionsQUALIFICATIONS:
