POSITION SUMMARY

Since Axiom Space is a very complex work environment, we are looking for a resilient, high-energy Supply Chain Specialist responsible for supporting end‑to‑end supply chain activities of high‑reliability space programs. This role ensures Axiom’s supply chain partners deliver critical components on time, programs stay on schedule, costs remain controlled, and supply chain risks are actively mitigated. It requires close collaboration with legal, finance, engineering, operations, program management, and internal stakeholders to support mission critical, advanced aerospace products and development programs.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Uphold high ethical standards in all supplier and internal interactions.

  • Ensure compliance with aerospace regulations, export controls, government procurement rules, and corporate policies.

  • Support supply chain coordination across engineering, operations, and aerospace program teams.

  • Manage supplier performance metrics, and continuous improvement efforts.

  • Drive continuous improvement in supply chain systems, tools, and processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Monitor supplier capacity, performance, and compliance with technical, quality, and delivery requirements.

  • Support negotiation of contracts and support evaluation of design or engineering changes that impact supply chain feasibility.

  • Report on subcontract budgets and forecasts, including various aerospace contract types (FFP, FPIF, T&M, Cost Reimbursement).

  • Track project milestones, delivery risks, and cost impacts; develop recovery or mitigation plans.

  • Communicate with engineering teams to integrate supply chain considerations early in product design cycles.

  • Work jointly with operations and program management to align production planning, capacity, and demand.

  • Partner with maintenance, logistics, and IT teams when applicable to ensure smooth aerospace parts movement and systems integration.

  • Maintain detailed supply chain records such as procurement documentation, supplier reports, logistics activities, and inventory levels.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Finance, or related field required,

  • 2+ years of progressive purchasing, procurement, contracts & supply chain administration experience,

  • Professional certifications such as CSCP, CPIM, PMP, or ISM credentials preferred,

  • Experience with commercial and government acquisition processes, FAR/NFS and flowdown requirements,

  • Proven technical experience in management of contract systems (Power BI, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Powerpoint, Ironclad, Deltek Costpoint, Jira Service Management, others),

  • Strong understanding of procurement best practices, contract management, and compliance,

  • Experience with inventory control, MRP, ERP and procurement systems (e.g., Jira Service Management, Deltek Costpoint) preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

Requirements

  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation

  • Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised

  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position

  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones

Physical Requirements

  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time)

  • May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time)
