Supply Chain Specialist - Strip

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Assist in the analysis of demand forecasts against on hand, WIP, and on order positions
• Negotiate pricing and lead times with suppliers on buyouts/specials
• Execute purchase orders in alignment with planning direction from Supply Chain Manager
• Review and validate purchase order acknowledgements to ensure alignment with requested delivery dates and quantities
• Expedite purchase orders to mitigate potential delivery risks
• Track supplier performance monthly (Supplier Scorecard metrics) for SCM & VP of Supply Chain
• Proactively communicate potential delivery delays to Supply Chain Manager and Inventory Managers
• Maintain accurate order status and documentation in the ERP system
• Coordinate with warehouses and operations personnel to ensure proper material receipt and processing as needed
• Assist in evaluating new suppliers and qualification process
• Maintain and update all specifications in system (ASTM, AMS)
• Support implementation of supply chain initiatives led by the VP of Supply and or the Supply Chain Manager

Required Education and Experience: 

• 1 – 3 years of relevant experience in supply chain preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy 
• Experience with ERP systems and Excel
• Ability to work independently on assigned duties
• Demonstrates an ability to manage a variety of priorities while meeting deadlines 

Working Conditions (Including Physical and Mental Demands): 

• Manual dexterity for use of computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed
• Ability to speak, hear and interpret sounds and speech
• Must be able to sit, stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours per day, occasionally 8+ hours, occasionally position will require stooping, kneeling or crouching for less than 8 hours per day
• Ability to carry up to 10 lbs.
• Work environment is consistent with an office setting
• Occasional exposure to loud noises
