Job Description

Supported Employment & Education Specialist (SEE) – Navigate ProgramPosition SummarySouth County Mental Health Center, Inc. is seeking a compassionate and motivated Supported Employment & Education Specialist (SEE) to join our Navigate Program. This position helps individuals with mental illness achieve meaningful educational and employment goals by providing individualized vocational support, job development, educational guidance, and ongoing follow-along services using the Supported Employment and Education (SEE) model.About UsSouth County Mental Health Center, Inc. is a private, non-profit, Joint Commission-accredited behavioral healthcare provider serving Southeast Palm Beach County. We are dedicated to delivering compassionate, high-quality mental health services to individuals and families in our community.Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Science from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience working with individuals with mental illness
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Social Science or a related field
  • Three (3) years of experience working with individuals with mental illness
  • Experience in supported employment, vocational rehabilitation, or educational counseling
  • Knowledge of community employment resources and post-secondary educational systems
Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupported Employment & Education Services
  • Help clients develop and achieve individualized employment and educational goals
  • Conduct comprehensive vocational and educational assessments
  • Assist clients with obtaining competitive employment and enrolling in educational programs
  • Develop relationships with community employers and educational institutions
  • Provide ongoing follow-along support to promote long-term success in employment and education
Community Outreach & Job Development
  • Conduct outreach to employers and educational providers to expand opportunities for clients
  • Advocate for clients seeking competitive employment and educational advancement
  • Connect clients with community resources that support vocational and educational success
Treatment Planning & Documentation
  • Participate in collaborative treatment planning with the interdisciplinary care team
  • Complete routine assessments and maintain accurate, timely documentation
  • Attend weekly team meetings and participate in regular clinical supervision
  • Complete required staff development and training activities
Additional Duties
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

  • Understanding of confidentiality laws, client rights, and ethical standards
  • Familiarity with the Baker Act, Marchman Act, and behavioral health services
Physical Demands
  • Combination of office-based work and community outreach
  • Frequent computer use, documentation, and travel within the community
  • Ability to visit employers, educational institutions, and client locations as needed
Working Conditions
  • Behavioral health and community-based service environment
  • Regular travel to meet with clients, employers, schools, and community partners
  • OSHA Class III work environment
Performance StandardsPerformance will be evaluated based on:
  • Success in helping clients achieve employment and educational goals
  • Timeliness and accuracy of documentation and assessments
  • Development of employer and educational partnerships
  • Client engagement and satisfaction
  • Compliance with agency policies and Supported Employment & Education best practices
  • Effective collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team
