Pay $20.00 - $23.00 an hour
The Supportive Housing Manager will take a lead role assisting individuals that are homeless and dually diagnosed with obtaining suitable housing. The Supportive Housing Manager will meet with individuals in shelters, jail, or the office, etc. to assess which type of housing will best meet their needs.
The Supportive Housing Manager will ensure that the apartment units are safe and meet codes standards, collaborate with landlords to negotiate leases, etc., and work in conjunction with the Supportive Housing Specialist to assist individuals with obtaining benefits and entitlements. This position is responsible for internal and external reporting.
Work schedule may include flexible hours but generally 8:00am - 4:00pm Monday-Friday.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- To meet with individuals who are homeless to discuss suitable housing options.
- Collaborate with landlords to obtain housing and negotiate leases, etc.
- Provide internal and external reports as required by Federal Government and HUD.
- Document and audit appropriate paperwork required.
- Collaborate with Upstate Caring Partners' Finance Department regarding rents, security deposits, and other financial matters.
- Attend all staff meetings, case conferences, and trainings required.
- Attend supervision with supervisor.
- Establish a work environment that creates positive communication between supervisors and employees and assimilates new employees to the Agency's culture, values and mission.
- Ensure compliance with all pertinent government and Agency regulations and operating standards
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have QMHSP status:
Bachelor's degree in a human services related field, or;
Associate's degree in a human services related field and three years experience in human services, or;
Highschool diploma and five years experience in human services;
2 or more years experience working with individuals who are homeless with a co-occurring alcohol/substance abuse and psychiatric disorder.
Experience with negotiating housing leases and knowledge of Housing and Urban Development, Office of Mental Health (OMH), Office of Alcohol & Substance Abuse Services (OASAS), and Shelter Care Plus is recommended.
Must have a valid NYS Driver's License
