Job Title: Surgery Scheduler III Location: SVC Cardiology [Confirm: city, state] Schedule: Onsite | Day Shift (8hr) | Until LOA return | Full Time, Non-Exempt Requirements: HS Diploma or equivalent education or experience 2+ years recent experience in surgery or procedural scheduling Experience with surgical scheduling workflows, block time, and provider coordination Ability to verify insurance eligibility, referrals, and prior authorizations Proficiency in scheduling systems, data entry, and intermediate computer skills Experience coordinating with physicians, clinics, and ancillary departments Ability to manage high-volume scheduling with accuracy and prioritization Strong communication skills for patient, provider, and staff interaction Preferred Requirements: Experience in cardiology or specialty procedural scheduling Experience training or onboarding new staff Familiarity with surgical equipment and room coordination processes Experience supporting multiple providers or departments Knowledge of reporting or project coordination within scheduling teams Summary / Duties: Maintains and coordinates scheduling for surgical and specialized procedures within the cardiology department. Works closely with physicians, clinic staff, and ancillary teams to ensure accurate booking of procedures, including verification of provider block time, room availability, equipment, and supplies. Enters and updates scheduling data, manages changes and reschedules, and communicates updates to patients and care teams. Verifies insurance eligibility, referrals, and authorizations prior to procedures to ensure compliance and readiness. Tracks completed procedures and supports reporting or special projects as assigned. Provides cross-coverage support, assists with training new staff, and maintains workflow efficiency in a high-volume, detail-driven environment.
