POSITION: OR Tech

STRONG ORTHO, NEURO, AND GENERAL SKILLS ARE REQUIRED. PLEASE ONLY SUBMIT TRAVELERS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCE IN AND ARE PROFICIENT WITH ALL THREE AREAS.

SCHEDULING DETAILS AND CHARTING

" Shift hours: 3x12s, 11a-11p

" On call requirement: Rotating call with staff

" Weekend rotation with staff

" RTO, Block & Special Scheduling Requests: ALL requests must be included in the submission

" Call off Policy: Facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2-weeks

" Holiday Requirement: Must work one holiday per 13-week contract.

" Accept First-Time Travelers: Yes

" Locals Accepted? No locals accepted. Refer to Submittal Instructions for radius rule criteria.

REQUIRED LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS

" BLS

" NBSTSA, NCCT, or military OR Tech Cert acceptedVA or other state license required" If traveler holds an out of state license, they are required to obtain a VA state license. A 90 day authorization will be required so the traveler can work while VA state license is being issued.

REQUIRED CLINICAL SKILLS

" Strong general, ortho (total joints), and neuro experience required

" Big belly/crani/ortho trauma experience highly preferred

" Robotic trained-highly preferred

UNIT DETAILS AND FLOATING

" Patient Population-Neonates, Adolescents, Infants, Pediatrics, Geriatrics

" Level I trauma OR for southwest Virginia with 25 OR suites. 24x7 on site nursing coverage. Services - general, orthopedics, neurosurgery, plastics, gynecology, oncology, robotic, ENT, opthalmology, pediatrics, sports medicine

" Special Equipment: ROSA, Si and Xi daVinci robots, stealth, O-Arm, HIPEC

Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital is a 703-bed acute care teaching hospital and the flagship facility of Carilion Clinic. It is the region s only Level I Trauma Center (Adult & Pediatrics), Magnet-designated for nursing excellence, and affiliated with the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. The hospital features advanced specialty care, a dedicated children s hospital, and is certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center.
